New Hampshire has enacted legislation (House Bill 608) that expands gender identity protections. House Bill 608 is effective immediately.
Background:
In July 2018, New Hampshire added gender identity to its list of characteristics that are protected from discrimination. Under the law, "gender identity" means a person's gender-related identity, appearance, or behavior, whether or not that gender-related identity, appearance, or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with the person's physiology or assigned sex at birth.
