Purge Forms I-9 In Workforce Now - Coming Soon

We are excited to announce that the ADP Comprehensive Services ® eI-9 Management product will be gaining an additional feature – a “purge” setting.

This purge setting will allow Forms I-9 and any corresponding documents to be automatically purged for any terminated employees 180 days after meeting the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) retention rules.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The purge setting will be enabled in early October 2025. Purges will occur the first of the month after activation. The first purge will occur on Nov. 1 – so there’s still time to opt out.

Once this feature is made available, your company will be opted in automatically. If you remain opted in, you’ll be able to access a report on the 15th of each month showing all employees who have documentation that will be purged on the first of the upcoming month. You will have the opportunity to easily download any documents you would like to keep before they are purged.

Instructions on how to opt out will be shared in a notice once the feature is activated on your account.
