Burlingame, California has announced that the city minimum wage will increase on Jan. 1, 2023.
The Details:
The Burlingame minimum wage will increase from $15.60 per hour to $16.47 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2023. Employers who are subject to the City of Burlingame Business License Tax or who maintain a facility in the City of Burlingame must pay each employee who performs at least two hours of work per week in the City of Burlingame the required minimum wage.
Note: California does not allow the use of a tip credit when paying tipped employees.
Next Steps:
Effective Jan. 1, 2023, all Burlingame employers must pay their employees at least $16.47 per hour if the employee works at least two hours per week within the city limits. Employers should also post an up-to-date minimum wage notice in the workplace which can be found here.
