Maryland has enacted legislation that will prohibit employers from taking adverse action against an individual because they refuse to attend an employer-sponsored meeting regarding the employer’s opinion on religious or political matters. The law also requires employers to display a poster in the workplace and provide a notice to new hires.

Maine has enacted legislation that generally requires employers with 10 or more employees to ensure that job postings include a statement listing the prospective pay range the employer will offer a successful applicant. Covered employers must also provide an employee’s pay range upon request.
